Personal Training In Glenville: Whether you think in terms of “Weight Loss” or “Fat Loss” The main idea behind getting in shape is how you look and how healthy you are. The goal should be to get leaner. This means changing your body composition so that you have less fat and more muscle. So weight loss should not be the sole measure of your success. Women want to "tone," while men want to "build." Every person seems to have a pretty good idea of what kind of physique she or he wants. Toning and building muscle, however, is basically the same physiologic process differing mainly in the degree of progressive resistance.

Progressive Resistance training employs short duration exercises using resistance (free weights, machines, cables, bands, bodyweight) until the muscle or muscle group is fatigued. In each subsequent workout session, the intensity is increased slightly either by trying to sustain the exercise longer, by decreasing the rest time between sets or by increasing the resistance. Gradually your muscles grow and become stronger as they adapt to increased challenges.

Aerobic exercise as a foundation for a fat loss program and the utilization of oxygen requires that the body adapt itself to more efficiently store and deliver oxygen to the muscles where they are converted to fuel. Therefore both lung capacity and blood oxygen circulatory system are increased when cardiovascular activity is performed on a regular basis. Your health is improved as well as overall stamina and endurance are increased.

Your diet and aerobic and strength training programs will be the cornerstones of your fat loss plan. These programs are created by Cathy Winslow with only you in mind and based on your goals, current condition, schedule, lifestyle, and what will work FOR YOU. Having a water bottle on hand during class is an absolute must. You should drink water to replace what you will be losing and a towel to absorb sweat. Padded biking shorts are a good investment for a comfortable ride. After the ride is over, wipe down the bike and the floor of any sweat So the area is left clean and dry...

Classes: What are they?

518 Indoor Cycling: Noel Day has designed an indoor cycling workout program that will enhance cardiovascular health, regardless of age or ability level. The 518 cycling class is a mixed-intensity class, utilizing Spinner bikes for a workout that will work the whole body and burn calories faster then a normal workout can!

Inspirational Toning

A fitness boot camp is a type of group exercise class that mixes traditional calisthenic and weight exercises with interval training and strength training. Cathy incorporates a variety of styles of fitness exercises that are designed in a way that pushes the participants harder than they'd push themselves and, in that way, resembles a military boot camp.

Zumba (Full Throttle) and Zumba (Gold): The Zumba program is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music dance movements, creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating and effective fitness system. Zumba Gold is a slower-paced Zumba which is targeted for the beginner or the older exerciser who wants to stay in shape at an easier pace than Full Throttle.

Gentle Yoga: This restorative and healing yoga class includes slow, gentle standing and floor stretches with meditation and guided imagery. It is beneficial for those suffering from chronic pain.

This style of yoga that is less strenuous and accomplishes the goals of providing a workout without putting any unnecessary strain on the practitioners by using modifications of standard hatha yoga poses. Gentle yoga is a great way for people to try a more relaxed workout. People needing to work on overall flexibility or are recovering from an injury, women who are pregnant, if you are fit or not You will fell great taking this class.

Intermediate Yoga: If you starting to feel a little too comfortable with Gentle Yoga poses. Then it may be time to step up to Intermediate Yoga. You may find some of these poses quite easy and others nearly impossible. Don't get discouraged by this! Remember, yoga is a process, and there are no deadlines: You have a lifetime to improve your strength and flexibility.

Your Membership includes instruction from the Resident Trainer, So you have the basics of using the gym!

Day passes are available, as well. In addition, our club has punch passes. Count on our Comfortable, Friendly Atmosphere with ample instruction on Cardio and Circuit machines and free weights. It is important that you have a clear understanding of your workouts and that you work at a pace that is right for you.
